Knowable vs Unknowable

(click text "hot spots" for next levels)

A question underlying Fire in the Mind - underlying science itself is what can be truly known?

It is the epistemology of science.

These barriers seem to exist..

  • Some information is theoretically available but practically too complex for us to unravel - requiring the intelligence to reverse entropy.

  • Information in non-linear systems quickly becomes  chaotic.

  • Information at the quantum level is inherently uncertain.

  • Other information is unavailable due to basic mathematical restrictions (Godel's Incompleteness Theorem, speed of light, etc.)

All of these limits might result from our position in a classical universe (the universe of hunter gatherers) bound on either end by relativistic and quantum weirdness.
